Sunny, clear, very cold.
Pretty good.
Saturday morning was devoted to checking out of the apartment and checking in with the doctor. This took Sue and I through until lunchtime, while the youngsters had their final lesson.
This just left time after lunch, for one final run. This time, I headed for the summit together with the youngsters. We went all the way to the top, using both cable cars and the T-bar across the glacier.
The run down to the village from that point is magnificent. It is approximately 7 miles in length. (This was the only time during the week that we did the complete run).
The start across the glacier is a gentle well groomed run, graded only green and well groomed. From the top of the cable car, the run down to La Toura is a genuine ski run with a variety of different conditions, finishing through the relatively narrow U shape valley filled with moguls. Down to Les Cretes, is mainly a road and from there to the village is a zig-zag path.
Reluctantly, we checked in our rental skies and drove down the valley to Grenoble and dinner with Pascal Beyls, a business colleague who lives in Grenoble. A very different trip compared to the journey up, with clear road conditions and blue skies.
